Invisible House in Joshua Tree, CA

No expense was spared in the Invisible House, where the walls are entirely made of glass, bringing the outside in. Rural, unspoiled, and rugged, you’ll love the surroundings that are similar to what you find in the nearby national park – but here, you have it all to yourself. A 100-foot indoor pool allows guests to swim laps, while taking in the mesmerizing views surrounding.

The kitchen is just steps from the pool, so your commute to the fridge to grab another bottle of champagne is short. Go ahead, party like you’re Lizzo this New Years.

Abracadabra Dome in Landers, CA

We can’t imagine a more magical place to wake up on New Years Day, than the magical Abracadabra Dome, located on 2.5 acres in the Mojave Desert near Joshua Tree, CA. The bohemian vibe created with Moroccan-inspired pouffes and sheepskin rugs provides the perfect atmosphere for a laidback New Years Eve. Mix a drink at the bar, play your favourite tunes on the record player, and turn it into your own private dome dance party – or head outside and hang in the hammock, scanning the skies for shooting stars.

You can elevate your stay into a wellness retreat – private yoga and spa treatments can be arranged from the comfort, beauty, and privacy of the home. Located just five minutes from the historical landmark, Integratron (sound bath anyone?), you’ll also be a 20-minute drive from the expanse of Joshua Tree National Park.

Zenith Valley in Yucca Valley, CA

Visiting Joshua Tree is one thing, but seeing a big portion from the comfort of your bath is another. If the latter sounds like a bucket list goal, then Zenith Valley is for you.

Sleeping up to 12 guests in six bedrooms, throw a dinner party of epic proportions while the sun sets over the stunning views of the surrounding landscape at Zenith Valley. After dinner, graduate to the hot tub or fire pit –  or stay indoors and head to the game room for a round of pool, ping pong or poker.

Private Hot Springs Oases in Wonder Valley, CA

Hear ye, hear ye: these three affordable NYE getaways come with their own private hot springs tubs. You’ll know you’re almost there after passing the “Next Services: 100 Miles” highway sign, indicating the solitude and peacefulness waiting for you in beautiful Wonder Valley. Watch the sunset from the comfort of your granite soaking tub, filled with water supplied from the mineral-rich hot springs below.

These three look to be available for NYE: Ocotillo Oasis, Mesquite Oasis, and Chaparral Oasis.

Black Desert House in Yucca Valley, CA

The Black Desert House was one of our most-liked photos on Instagram in 2021, so we already know you love this house. Sitting at the edge of a 440-acre private ranch with unobstructed views of the desert, this futuristic house is the brainchild of Oller & Pejic Architects and caught the attention of Architectural Digest with its fresh take on contemporary minimalism that both contrasts and complements the vast, ancient landscape.

Inside, artwork embraces anthracite walls, and cool tones and lashings of chrome are uplifted by splashes of fuchsia, warm wood and distressed leather. The outdoor area is equally impressive, with the expansive patio playing host to a sunken pool and hot tub – both solar heated, naturally – a serious grill and plenty of seating spots to settle onto when it’s time to watch the sunset give way to a sky chockful of stars.

Desert Wave in Palm Desert, CA

Make a cocktail at the whiskey & amaro bar, crank Sinatra’s Auld Lang Syne, and party like its 1955 this New Year’s Eve at the Desert Wave. Design enthusiasts will adore this glorious space, for its mid-century architecture with hallmark curved roof (thoughtfully built to echo the shape of the San Jacinto Mountains behind it), plus it’s classic vintage modernist furnishings.

This home is a breathtaking piece of art and love. Built in 1955 as a sculptor’s studio, the house was renovated in 2020 and combines those all-important design elements with luxurious touches. The dreamy lounge opens out to the striking garden area with a Ofuro soaking tub. “So long, it’s been good to know you.”
